The National Institute for Cancer Research once again took part in the 49th Brno Oncology Days (BOD) and the 39th Nursing Conference, held in early September in Brno. The event welcomed more than 2,400 participants and confirmed its position as the largest oncology conference in the Czech Republic.
This year’s program was rich and diverse – featuring hundreds of expert lectures and dozens of posters in the fields of clinical oncology and cancer research, along with a wide range of workshops. For the first time, the conference also included live demonstrations of surgical procedures in the ONKO cinema. In addition to the scientific content, Brno Oncology Days provided space for informal networking and friendly exchanges among professionals across different disciplines.
“I greatly appreciate the generosity of the organizers, the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute, which once again enabled NICR to participate in the Brno Oncology Days as an exhibitor. For us, this prestigious conference is not only an opportunity to present the outcomes of our research, but above all a chance to engage directly with clinical colleagues as well as representatives of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and to jointly explore ways of advancing cancer research. We are proud to be part of such an inspiring platform,” said Aleksi Šedo, Director of NICR.
