The Center for Precision Medicine of the University Hospital Brno and the National Institute for Cancer Research recently established strategic partnership aimed at connecting cutting-edge research and jointly contributing to the development of precision medicine in oncology.
The newly signed memorandum confirms the joint intention of both parties to support the sharing of knowledge and research capacities, to inform each other about projects, and thus to contribute to raising the level of expertise in cancer research in the Czech Republic and internationally. Both partners also commit to creating opportunities for the development of young scientists, implementing joint activities such as educational lectures, seminars, and research projects, and promoting or communicating the results to both the professional and general public.
The Center for Precision Medicine (CPM), established in May 2024 as part of the University Hospital Brno, brings together experts from various fields of precision medicine, integrating their clinical and research activities within a single interdisciplinary unit. The mission of the CPM is to coordinate and effectively develop this field, which will enable the rapid implementation of new technologies and precision medicine procedures into clinical practice, thereby ensuring that the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic solutions are available to patients at University Hospital Brno.
University Hospital Brno is a pioneer across various fields of precision medicine, whose application in clinical practice is already associated with hundreds of successfully treated cancer patients, children who, after many years or, conversely, very quickly, received their genetic diagnoses, their healthy siblings, and, in general, human stories that would never have happened without precision medicine and the healthcare professionals at University Hospital Brno.
